Carnival's Half Moon Cay was gorgeous! The excursions were canceled due to safety (weather) concerns, which was for the best. We didn't mind. We swam, sun-bathed, visited "Captain Morgan's" abandoned ship for Pina Coladas and walked the beach. The sand was like fine, soft white clay and the water was clear and light blue. Perfection. We rode there in small 60 passenger boats and staff from the Conquest manned the island's bars and food areas. The ride to Half Moon Cay from the Conquest was delightful.

If you like water activities you will love it. If you like to walk and sight-see, you will like it. If you're not into water activities or sightseeing...you'll still enjoy the island. Very good cookout (burgers and dogs), great view of the beautiful ocean and white sandy beach, and even some souvenir shops. The ride on the tender boat to and from the ship was exciting in itself.

HMC is the best beach I have been too! We had a Beach Villa and I highly recommend it. You have your own private bathroom and shower, food, drinks, fridge, water floats, towels, and snorkel gear. We had a blast! We are visiting here again in November and have the villa booked again. The drinks are expensive here. You can carry off drinks so I suggest that you buy some beer on the ship and take it off with you. The selection at Captain Morgan bar also has a limited selection of beer. We did not visit any of the other bars on the island but I believe there is a couple other places to go.
