Not my favorite port, I would definitely recommend that you book an excursion if you’re going here. My family went tubing down a river in the jungle with a small group and a tour guide, and it was awesome!

We ended up taking a shuttle to Doctors Cove beach. While there with our daughters age 4 & 5 we were offered weed numerous times and asked if they could braid their hair about 10 times. The beach and water were great! We had a great time and got burnt, even with sunscreen! When we were ready to leave we decided to try and walk around some of the shops. Every store wanted to drag you in. After about 3 times my husband told us to buy what we wanted and we were going back to the ship! The best part beside the beach was our taxi driver taking us back! He was hilarious and informative about the country!

So I’m going here in May with my family, and we can’t decide how we want to spend our day... any opinions on excursions/shopping/restaurants?!? It’s our first cruise, so we aren’t really sure how this works yet.

We took a tour of montego bay from on our own. It cost $50 for the both of us. It was ok. The driver took us to shops he gets a commission for. We were dropped off at margarita Ville and had some over priced drinks but I got to jump into the ocean from the bar and loved that part.

Feeling very uneasy about going to Montego Bay, Jamaica after reading everyone's experiences. Can you avoid the drug peddlers? What did y'all do to enjoy the island?

Don't miss the day tour to Appleton Rum Plantation. The two hour bus ride was the best way to really see the island, and Dane, our guide, was so much fun and informative. The plantation was a great experience and the best part was the tasting.
