Montego Bay, Jamaica Port Reviews

We enjoyed the tour of Jamaica, but I do feel like we were not given a option of what to do. The locals will sweep you up into a tour and each stop will add to the price of your trip. Either plan a good excursion ahead or stay on the ship.

I prefer ports where there are "things to do" within walking distance. This port required transportation to pretty much anything a tourist would want to do. Moreover, the 1 beach that the $25 shuttle stopped at was a bit pricey to use ($8 per person just to use it and an additional $21 for an umbrella and 2 chairs). We instead chose to hang out at the Margaritaville to enjoy drinks and the free waterpark there. This was the saving grace of this port stop.

We visited the Children's School through a Carnival Excursion that provided us an opportunity to give back to a pre-school with supplies and or money. It was a wonderful experience.

Very friendly people! Planning to go back on a vacation that is not a cruise! These ports give a glimpse and just a taste of what can be enjoyed on a longer vacation.

We loved Jamaica. We went to Doctors Cave and Shopping. We did not feel unsafe. The people are nice there. They do offer you drugs but just tell them no and they will leave you alone. The water is so clear there.

Beach was nice, could see small fish swimming with you. We did the Hop on Hop off excursion through carnival which allowed us to go to Rose Hall for shopping, an open Jamaican shopping market(lord they hound you buy something) and we also made a stop at the beach. I think it was $25 per person to ride the bus and there was a fee to go to the Doctors Cave Beach. Was not impressed with Jamaica and it shows that their government does not put money back into the country with all the tourism that takes place.

We went to margaritaville and Ricks Cafe . Margaritaville was AWESOME . Ricks Cafe was a cool location but I will never go there again . HORRIBLE customer service . There reputation has gone to their head . Very Very disappointing .
