Refer to this as "Fake Belize." Man-made island with VERY COMMERCIALIZED shopping traps. Crowds, crowds, crowds.

Beautiful pool on the private island. Every food and drink item is rather expensive and I believe NCL should not be charging their passengers for food and drink that they have already paid for in their cruise package!

The island was very nice but we were disappointed not to be able to cave tube as we originally planned. Our grandchildren loved the zipline. But one of the things my husband and I like to do best is explore new areas and as nice as the Island was, we were not able to do more than take the ferry to Placencia. Also heard a number of complaints from other passengers about not being able to use our keycards for food and drink. Unfortunately the pool had to cleared toward the end of the afternoon as someone got sick and there were jelly fish in the ocean that day too. I must add that all the natives we came in contact with were very nice.

I really didn't care for the excursions and felt they were pricey. We did take a ferry boat to the island and did some sight seeing and visited a beach.

Beautiful private island; feels almost "Disney" like - i.e. almost too perfect. Needless to say, well-maintained. I'm not sure I'm sold on the idea of a "private island" that isn't really a private island; from the passengers' perspective, it is the worst of both worlds: the limitations of a private island, with none of the benefits (e.g. all food and drinks are at cost). We did enjoy our excursion boating through the mangroves and seeing manatees.

Got a private cabana. It was very quiet, luxurious but unnecessary. There are plenty of chairs poolside. Wait staff was not very attentive. We got what we needed but would have ordered more drinks had she come around more often.

We went cave tubing and ATV riding through the rainforest. It was an epic experience that we'll remember forever. This was our first port with a tender but the ride wasn't that bad (about 15 minutes). When we returned their was a very long line for the tender to get back on the ship. Suprisingly it wasn't a long wait like I would of expected. I took off one star only because due to the long ride to the excursion it seemed like we were rushed on the ATV ride in order to get back to the port on time. In the future we would not book an excursion that has multiple activities. That way we can enjoy ourselves more.

It was very beautiful but unfortunately food & drinks are not included so be prepared. The shops are also pricey - so plan to get better deals at the other ports.
