this is my favorite stop because they had a beach and they had tents and chairs and even if you didn't do an excursion you could just sit back and enjoy

The Mayan chocolate tour very worth it.

We stayed in the port area.

Harvest Caye is such a beautiful place! The water is turquoise and the landscape is lush. They have a large beach and walk thru butterfly garden and animal viewing. I absolutely loved the laid back feel and beauty of it. Nobody chasing you to make a sale, and all around just an enjoyable place to be.

Great beach, very clean and well looked after. Good place to buy cheap booze if you are planning to bring some back with you.

We did the cave tubing, zip lining and lunch excursion! This was our favorite excursion! The bus ride was about an hour, but our tour guides were full of knowledge and humor. It was awesome to learn so much about this country. The cave tubing was absolutely amazing! You could see straight to the bottom of the water. The water temperature was a little chilly at first but felt amazing. Remember to turn your flash off if taking pictures inside the cave. Those with the flash didn’t come out very clear. The 5 zip lines were amazing to see the jungle below you. I wish we had more time to zip line and see more. The authentic lunch was wonderful! Be prepared to climb many steps to the cave with your tube and back down again. Then prepare yourself to be in your zip line gear to climb many more steps again. This was a very physical excursion. Most people were exhausted on the bus ride back to port and many people slept on the bus. Seriously, a very physical excursion so be prepared. We returned to port but didn’t have time to shop. Since this is a tender port due to preserving the ocean life, we didn’t have time to shop which was disappointing. We couldn’t get off the ship any sooner than we did and were concerned that shopping would make us miss the boats back to the ship.

I did not enjoy this port. We were constantly swarmed by people with hard sell tactics. The area is not as tourist friendly as the other ports we visited. I am glad I went but don't think I would go back.

NCL's private island is worth staying on the boat for. Unless you just want to get off and go for a swim in the Gulf, then head straight back. You beverage package does not apply to the island, not much to do there and everything is an up charge. I will look for itineraries in the future that do not include this stop, wasted day.
