Great place to go shopping. Don't wander outside the fence though unless your with an excursion. The people in the city were quite frightening for our 7 year old.

We did the Duns River Falls. Was a bucket list of mine. Hubby good not do the falls due to physical limits, so he stayed on the stairs and platform. I was concerned that he would feel disappointed that he couldn’t “experience “ this with me. Couldn’t be further from the truth! He was almost always within eyesight which made it feel like he was right there. He was a able to catch pictures and yell with excitement with me at the end!

If you're into just getting the regular souvenirs, liquor or jewelry then you can stay at the port. If you want to visit the surrounding areas you either book an excursion or take a taxi. We visited Montego Bay, just went to the hip strip, waited 2 hours for the rest of the group and went back to the ship. I prefer Ocho Rios by far.

We did the Good Hope Tour. Supposedly they had zip lines, a 300 ft water slide, pool, rain forest and a lot of other activities. It was also suppose to only be 20 minutes from the port. It was 40 minutes from the port, the pool had green slime on the top of it. They did have a very small zip line that our teenagers did but never mentioned you had to have closed toe shoes on to do it (of course you could rent or buy shoes when you got there). The water slide went into this nasty river. The rain forest was an old building screened in with birds. You had to rent a locker and when I went to rent one they had a bag behind the desk they would put my name on because they were low on lockers. I’ll stay on the boat if it ever ports in Jamaica again. It took forever just to get on the bus for our tour, it was very disorganized.

Love Jamaica. Went last year and was happy to be back. Purchased a day pass for Iberostar Rose Hall Beach. For 2 adults and 1 child cost was $192.00. Cab coming and going was $80.00. Through the cruise this excursion is $159.00 per adult and $129.00 per child. I enjoyed the all inclusive perks, namely alcoholic beverages. It was so easy to get a cab. We set a pick up time with our driver and she gave us her phone number. We called her when we were ready and she was already waiting for us.

Not my most favorite port. Did Duns River falls and had fun. Just hated the locals pressuring you to buy stuff and then talk down to you when you decline. It felt kind of dangerous to me. If any itinerary includes Jamaica I’ll prob stay on the ship.

Port where you need to have an excursion. We did not take one and went walking around. It would have been a nice walk, but locals are making it imbossible to bare. Not a second without someone selling you something and pulling you to their stores or taxis. They really need to learn how to give tourists a break, if they really want to sell something, or someone to come back again. After half an hour we returned to the peace of harbour area, which is really shame. Would have loved to support locals and buy something, but its just one mad hassle outside the gates. Ended up taking a tour round the city from port with mini train, which was nice.

Did a private excursion package with Courtney Taylor Tours . Clifton was our escort for the day and was wonderful. We went to the Blue Hole then horseback riding on the beach ! WOW !! He coordinated it so we could do both and shop in between the pop up rainstorms. Amazing!
