The Mayan Healing Ritual was fantastic…soaking in warm flowing water in a dark warm room, a traditional sauna/sweat lodge, mud and cold water rinse, another soak in an outdoor tub and finally a massage in a hammock…unique and relaxing. Their right on the beach and a you can refresh with a nice cocktail in a beach chair afterwards if you like (drinks not included). Highly recommended!

We visited Chacchoben Mayan ruins a couple of years ago. Great tour. We saw and climbed several pyramids. It's about an hour bus ride from the Port.

The excursion to the Chacchoben ruins was excellent, and we still had time to explore Mahahual away from the port area. We took a short cab ride to the village, had a great lunch right on the beach (best food we had the whole trip), enjoyed a free tequila tasting, and walked back along the beach to the lighthouse.

We saw the history of chocolate tour. It was ok. But we mostly watch the dolphin area, swam in the pool, walked and shopped, ate and watch the free exhibitions there.

What beach is the Mayan healing rituals?

Answered by lovecruises1965 on March 21, 2022

They are a few blocks from the exit of the port. There is a nice sidewalk leaving from the port area. They will give you good directions when you book with them. We walked there twice. You could also take a taxi.

The port in Costa Maya definitely has a "touristy" vibe to it BUT there's a bunch of shops, food, and drinks. We spent the day wandering and had some of the best tacos I've ever eaten at a place by the port entrance/exit (where the cabs/excursions leave from).

we are thinking of getting a cab to Mahahual to the Malecon and having a beach day. I hear the beaches are free. Anyone experienced in this?
