We are doing a ship arranged scuba excursion (Oceania Marina) - is the availability of prescription masks for distance vision common? Neither of us wear contact lenses…. TIA

No commercial dive center or snorkeling excursion is going to have masks with prescription correction. You are going to need to get those yourself prior to the cruise. Do keep in mind, however, that a prescription snorkel mask is highly unlikely to be covered by vision insurance, so that would be an out of pocket expense for you.

no. best idea would be to take your own mask or get contacts.

you may also find that prescription goggles are relatively cheap from some mail order sources (especially if you order direct from China). These also can be worn under the full face mask and will seal much better

the glass in the mask adds 1 so you need to keep that in mind. my rx is -1.75. so I got adjusted to accommodate. before the adjustment, the lenses were making me sick.

I bought a full face mask from Amazon and was able to wear my glasses to snorkel.

not unless you get your own prescription masks
