I did that tour April of last year thru carnival and had a great time. I don’t remember why it was called 7 colors lol it was really nice blue water though.

Ours wasn’t good. Our driver took us to the ruins, demanded an additional $10 each, then left us. We didn’t know which group we were supposed to tour the ruins with, and we asked around. We ended up doing a self tour. When we got back to the front, our driver was nowhere to be found. The man directing all of the tour van parking found us a ride back to the ship. We never saw the lagoon- and that was the whole reason we booked. We were able to get a full refund.

Have not done any excursions in Costa Maya, but I'm hearing a lot of good stuff about Maya Chan. That is what we're planning to try on our June cruise on WOTS: https://costamayabeachresort.com/

We didn’t do the Mayan family but we did do the ruins plus Seven colors lagoon! It was the best excursion I’ve ever done in my whole life. We first stopped for fresh Honey Pineapple that’s only in the area of Manual (so good it’s ruined us for pineapple forever lol) After that we went to Chacchoben Ruins. Any Mayan ruins was a bucket list thing for me, I actually cried when I saw it. Ugh lol Then we hopped back in the van, that only had 8 of us plus our driver and guide, to Bacalar Seven Colors. It was so amazing and so beautiful all 8 of us said best vacation ever! After all that they took us to El Taco Loco to eat!!! We’re still talking about it and it was 3 weeks ago. I even got ahold of the guy Tino that booked it for us to let him know we will see him in 2025 for my 50th birthday lol. It your interested in checking them out they are under Chac Ek Costa Maya tours our guide was Francisco and our boat guide was Angel! I couldn’t say enough good things about this tour. 🥰🥰🥰

it's named 7 colors because the water has so many shades of blue.

make sure you book thru the ship or a reputable company. I go with the ship because if the excursion is booked thru the ship and it's running late...the ship will wait for you. if you book with an outside company and are running late, the ship doesn't have to wait for you. if this is your first cruise...book thru the ship to be safe!

I read from two of the tour companies, if your ship docks after noon, you’re better off with just one or the other.
