I would never ever take my,passport off the ship, especially in Mexico, even worse Jamaica….we just take a government issued photo ID…our passport stays on the ship, in the safe

Never bring your passport with you. Safe on the ship and they will leave it for you if they have to leave you. If you bring it, it can be stolen or lost.

I've always take a photo copy of my passport and an some of my identifications with me (Paper copy / phone ) And leave some of the originals on this ship My driver's license I usually take with me

Bringing your passport with you is a personal preference. I consider it insurance just in case I am at the wrong place at the wrong time. If you are even detained or miss the ship, having your passport is the safest measure. but it is personal preference, you will see pros and cons for both.

You don't need one, but if you have one it's not a bad idea to have it with you. You are in a foreign country, and it is you proof of US citizenship.

Without a passport the line going through customs coming back is 3x as long and takes forever

I think its not a good Idea. A driver’s license is enough.
