Greeted by schoolchildren singing. Charming island. Had seen some damage by the hurricane but the people were the friendliest.

This island is still recovering from the big hurricane that damaged it severely in 2017. The vendors set up near the ship were friendly enough, but walk just a street over and you definitely don’t feel welcome nor safe. I was there with two friends - a male from Jamaica and his wife who is black. The people of Dominica spoke to them and ignored me (I’m white). I also found it odd that a lot of vendors were trying to sell bottles of snake oil - literally snake oil salesmen! My husband went river tubing and said the areas higher up were dirty, lots of trash on the streets and such. This is not a place I’d want to stay overnight or be by myself.

I fell in love with Dominica. The people are amazing. The wacky rollers tour is the best excursion all week. The tour guides we're very informative. The swim to in the gorge was life changing.

This was our favorite stop. You will not find all the commercialized shopping. We did an island tour and loved our guide and their family values.

Not a good experience. When we got off the cruise ship we were only able to go to the market out front, if you did not have a booked excursion we were told to get back on the boat. When it was time to leave port, we weren’t leaving. Someone had been stabbed from our boat from someone trying to steal the mans laptop. The island looked very interesting and I wished I booked an excursion so I could have seen more of the island.

Driver named Curtis on shore drove us in a van and gave a great land tour. They are right outside the port, easy to purchase land tour of island.
