Beach right off ship was beautiful! Don’t be afraid to walk further down the beach for cheaper prices on chairs and umbrella! Don’t to afraid to barter either.

The island is still in terrible shape after Hurricane Irma. The people's spirits shone brightly despite it all. I was happy to visit to help spend a bit and help the economy but so sad to see the devastation they must live in daily so a mixed emotion.

We were excited about St Maarten, and we weren’t disappointed in the beauty of the island. Where we were surprised was the extent of the damage that still remains. St Maarten has a long way to go before it will be back to its former glory.... Maho Beach was very cool to see, but the novelty wore off quickly. The beach is very narrow, and extremely crowded. People were lying on the very narrow beach, and you couldn’t get past without stepping over them. We saw a few planes go over, then went to the Sunset Grill for a snack and some drinks. We are glad we saw it, it was a bucket list item for us, but we wouldn’t feel the need to ever go back to Maho. There are several other beautiful beaches that we passed on the way, and I would go to one of those next time.
