It was a beautiful island and the water was pretty. We did a carnival French beach break excursion and would never do it again ! When we got to the beach the people at the r sort made it sound like we had our own section, I guess we did but it was next to where they rent water rides. We had to keep moving for people in the water and then if you sit on the beach peddlars kept approaching you to buy something. The same ones over and over. A man selling his music wouldn't take no for an answer. We had to all just stop talking to him, we tried being nice and saying no thank you but it didn't work so we just had to look the other way and stop talking. Then I watched him go to another family and stick a speaker up to a teen girls ear, after her mother had already said no. Finally the mom stood up and practically pushed him away. I was so ready to leave that area. Also it came with lunch and it was good but once the wait staff saw our wrist bands they were very dismissive to us. I would never do this one again.

we did a boat trip to see the planes land, however I did not expect that this would be sailing to the airport area and then sitting on the boat for 2 hours watching planes land only, reading it before hand it sounded like so much more and this was just part of it. very disappointing and a waste of money as you don't actually get to go on the beach.

I would have thought that since St-Martin is the premier port in the Eastern Carib. It would have grown like Cozumel had. It didn’t. It’s still the same as it was years ago!

We had an excursion (make your own perfume) which was fun. Driving through the damage was heartbreaking. It felt more like driving in Mexico, with a lot of poor areas between the tourist spots which is always sad to see. Which was pretty consistant with all the islands we saw. Not what we had expected out of the famed Caribbean.

I thought we had to take the water taxi in order to get to the popular beaches. AFTER paying for the water taxi & learning that I would still have to pay for a taxi to take me to the beach, I found out a taxi could have taken me straight from the pier to the beach. 😕 Oh well, live & learn. But the beach was fantastic! I would love to go back to St. Maarten.

WORST PORT EVER BEEN TO IN MY LIFE. BEFORE GETTING ON THE BOAT YOU HAVE TO GO THROUGH 3 CHECK IN THE LAST ONE WILL THROW AWAY ANYTHING AWAY. YOU MIGHT JUST WANT TO STAY ON THE SHIP.

Did the Island Beauty and Birds excursion through Twin Island Excursions. Very knowledgeable drivers Lloyd and Rick, with lively discussion in the van as to local customs/politics, etc. Very interesting. We loved the bird sanctuary...it was small and enclosed (guess I had envisioned a 'park' from the description, but it was fine), but the exotic parrots and other birds of lots of bright colors were friendly and came up close for food (in hand held dishes provided by the sanctuary) - great for photography. Very friendly and informative excursion.
