We rented a van for about $100 and drove from one end of the island to the other. I was completely surprised by the desert-like landscapes. Visited 1 secluded beach, stone formation with great view, light house, and another beautiful larger beach close to resorts. Wonderful to explore the entire island.

Went on the Jeep Excursion which used Jeep 4 door Jeep wranglers. They picked us up in air conditioned buses (older school buses with all of the windows removed). Is was truly an off road experience and with rough terrain. The beach lunch at the end of the Excursion was not good. They had a blanket surrounded by throw pillows in the beach sand for all us (12) to eat and sit on. All of us was sitting close to each other and after spending the excursion in the sun and sweating, it was not comfortable having to sit on a pillow in the sand and try to eat with the sand sticking to you.

We did the half day Jeep excursion. It was wonderful, however we would have liked to have stayed at the beach for more than 20 min. We would have preferred to end the day with two hours there. Maybe they could extend that part of the excursion for people who would be willing to pay an extra surcharge to do that. Especially on a nice warm day.

We absolutely love Aruba. It is our favorite Caribbean Island. It is clean, has great beaches, great restaurants, great shopping. Everything is just great. You'll want to do some research on Aruba before you go because it is safe and easy to tour on your own without paying for a tour guide. There is the Aruba Aloe Factory, Palm Beach, Eagle Beach, the natural bridge. There are also some really nice restaurants like Flying Fish, Lighthouse, and El Goucho.

We highly recommend renting a Jeep Wrangler with no top and offroading the island. The island is pretty easy to navigate around the main roads near the perimeter, but definitely have a map in case you get lost on the interior of the island. Downtown Oranjestad looks like a commercialized strip with hotels, casinos, etc. But when you take your jeep to the other end of the island, it is a barren desert with wild donkeys, etc walking around. Truly amazing since it is a very small island and two parts can be so different. Offroading was a blast, bouncing around constantly over bumps and huge holes (not for the faint of heart). We drove to the desert portion and checked out a few of the caves which are very neat, with bats flying over your head. The natural pool was overrated, but if you must go, it is only accessible by jeep or ATV, but again is really out of the way and seemed to me an overrated conglomeration of rocks.
