Major warning from the ship – no camo attire is allowed on Barbados. This is our first visit here and decide to book the Atlantis Submarine tour through the ship. What a great adventure. We met our driver on the pier for a short drive (5-10 min) to the “headquarters” where you find a static display of the sub, gift shop & sign a waiver. Then you take a boat ride to where the sub is waiting. On the way you are briefed about safety precautions and what you might see on your trip. You wait for the current passengers on the sub to disembark and then board the sub. A quick bit of advice if you are boarding to the rear of the sub be first in line or near the front and if you are boarding to the front be last in line. This is so you are near the Captain (pilot) driving the sub. It has a nice bigger window. You have your own port hole to see fish, coral, a sunken ship and if you are lucky a sea turtle. This was great and I highly recommend it.

Bridgetown had the best sidewalks of this cruise ports. Didn’t need to dodge potholes. Didn’t experience aggressive vendors. Pretty low key. Quiet visit enjoyed the stop

My favorite port. As part of a group of nine, we had a private catamaran for the day. We snorkeled with turtles and saw two shipwrecks. It was the best!

Purchased the Harrisons Cave and Beach Day from United for $196 (for 2). The admission price to Harrisons Cave alone would have been $30 per person alone. The guided cave tour is via a tram that takes you down approximately 170 feet into an incredibly beautiful cave system replete with stalactite and stalagmites, running rivers and tranquil pools all illuminated and ventilated for comfort. The tram stopped twice along the approximately 2 mile tour allowing photo-op walk about in the large open areas with a chance to touch, and taste (if desired) the pure running stream water. This was an awesome experience! We were then transported to the beautiful Copacabana Beach Club in Bridgetown which included lounges/umbrella.

We got off the ship early and explored Bridgetown on our own. We ended up at the Waterfront Cafe for a second breakfast and a few local beers. We walked back to the ship and took the Island Tour and Mount Gay Rum Tour excursion. The tour was great! If you do not know who Rihanna is, I would suggest that you do your research before going to Barbados ;) The tour takes you to her current residence, the street named after her, and to her childhood home. We did have about 30 minutes to shop in Holetown on this tour, and found a local cafe, the Charizma Cafe, where we could try the local beer, Banks. After Holetown, we made our way to Mount Gay. The Mount Gay Rum Tour is not actually a production facility tour, but more of a history of Mount Gay and a rum tasting of three of their rums. Additional tastings of the more premium rum varieties were available in the tasting room for an additional charge. Your ticket also gets you several rum cocktail varieties for a reduced charge of $5 per cocktail. From here, we were taken back to port where we boarded the ship. The entire tour took about 3 hours.

Barbados' capital of Bridgetown is a very picturesque place, especially around the Chamberlain Bridge and Independence arch. We also enjoyed a trip to Nidhe Israel, the oldest synagogue in the Western Hemisphere -- a place that is historic, beautiful and interesting even if you aren't Jewish. Once we were done there, we went to the beach at Carlyle Bay (specifically, at an establishment called Harbor Lights, where food, drinks, beach chairs and umbrellas were plentiful for a reasonable charge). The best part of the beach, other than the crystal clear water, are the starfish that can be seen all around. Because we were given extra time in port (until 8 p.m.), we also had time to stop by the Cricket museum at Kensington Oval on the way back to the ship

Loved Barbados, in port for the longest time. Very clean and pretty. Did a drive around tour in the morning and then went to Carlisle Bay for the beach in the afternoon. Fun last port and we will be back!

We did a catamaran snorkeling trip including lunch and drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) through Cool Runnings Catamaran. HIGHLY recommend them!! Swam with turtles over a reef and at a ship wreck. The water is amazingly beautiful and warm and so clear - we even saw flying fish. The staff are attentive and the boat isn't packed out. Was an excellent day!
