Been to Barbados many times so took another beach day here. Included was a tour through the Malibu Rum distillery (which is practically right on the beach!). Thought it would be a yawn, but actually turned out to be very interesting. Beach itself was fantastic.....there are the usual vendors but they set up little stands and wait for you to come to them instead of prowling up and down the beach. And some of the products are quite nice...and much less expensive than in the tourist shops.

Paid a taxi $200 to drive three of us around the island for about 4 hours. This is a good idea if your tour includes: 1) a one hour tour of Nicholas Abby, 2) a ride on the nearby sugar cane train, 3) a brief stop at Cherry Tree Hill Overlook, 4) an extended photo stop at Bathsheba Beach, 5) a visit to one of the many gardens, and then 6) a one to two hour stop at a beach near your ship (where taxi may or may not be willing to come back to get you). I was not impressed with Bridgetown, the restaurants there, or the shopping at the cruise port.

I had previously visited Barbados and loved it. Unfortunately, cruise ships dock at probably the ugliest part of the island. I did not do an excursion but instead found a beach club and enjoyed a lazy day enjoying the view. We spent an extra day in Barbados due to port cancellations.
