It broke my heart to hear people on the ship say how they didn't like downtown Barbados. Please remember, you are visiting their home. Like many of us, our downtown areas serve our residents. The islands are the same. Many open air markets with fruits and veggies are their way of life. Enjoy the experience instead of looking for a Trader Joe's.

WOW. Highly recommend visiting the Boatyard $5 taxi to there. $20 to get in and you get beach chair , umbrella, first drink and use of the snorkeling tour. Swimming with the sea turtles were great. Plus they give you a free ride back to the ship

Barbados is absolutely beautiful. This is my second time here and both times we went to The boatyard. The weather wasn’t the best this time. Rain and sun on and off but always fun. Water is clear blue and sand is amazingly soft and white.

We got a taxi and had a day at the beach. Taxi at port took us to The Boatyard beach. ( Highly recommend it). Cost 5 dollars each. Cost 20 dollars each for entry to beach but I must say it was worth every penny. For that we got a sun bed each ( in other ports we paid 5 or 10 dollars just for a bed) an umbrella, a rum punch ( powerful stuff), WiFi and a boat trip and snorkelling gear and taken out for an hour snorkelling with the turtles and the most amazing fish. I swam and my wife just relaxed on the boat. Had a lovely bar meal and a couple of drinks. A lovely day to finish off our holiday.

If you are looking for a great beach, go to the Boat Yard"! There is a bar, a rope swing off the pier, an inflatable island to jump off, clean water, clean bathrooms and the $15 entry fee includes a free drink and transport back to the ship terminal!

We are all about the beaches on this cruise and I researched the heck out of the beaches on this island. I was looking for something not too busy, white, powder sand, calm, turquoise waters, and not too far away from the ship....... I HIT THE JACKPOT! We went to Brandon’s Beach. This is a beach so close to the ship that we actually WALKED back to the ship because there were no cabs waiting to take people back to the ship. This seemed to be a beach mostly used by the locals. The cab ride there was $4.00 per person and the cab drivers didn’t look too thrilled to take us to a beach that was so close. There was no one selling beach chairs, or no vendors on this beach. (I liked that) We purchased snacks from the shops in the cruise terminal, so we were covered.

Barbados may have the clearest and most pristine beaches I have ever experienced. The sand felt like baby powder and the water was perfectly clear. I am so glad we did a beach day, with two chairs and an umbrella, plus drinks, while lounging.

We took the luxury catamaran and sea turtle snorkel tour with carnival and had a magical time. The food and drinks were amazing and swimming with the sea turtles was a magical experience. We stayed at this port until 8 so after the tour we took a cab around to see Rihanna’s house, some of the town, and then enjoyed the local fish fry with dancing and live music. So much fun!!
