On this visit, we only walked around the port and then returned to the ship. It was Xmas day so some of the shops opened later.

I did not book an excursion here. I should have . We tried to get taxi driver to show us the sites but they all seemed like hustlers. Probably my fault as I did not do my research on this port and book something in advance.

We did the 4 hour Mega Island Tour from ShoreExcursionsGroup.com which uses Annie’s Caribbean Tours. Annie and her husband “Spoony” do a great job. Our group was too big for one vehicle, so we were just 6 people in Spoony’s van. He was very informative and entertaining. Since it was only the 6 of us and two had been to a resort on the island in years past, he tailored the trip to include a drive through the resort area and also to the spot that overlooks the strip of land separating the Atlantic from the Caribbean. We recommend this tour.

We took a taxi to Frigate beach. Nice uncrowded beach. $5 each way.

We did the scenic rail road tour I wouldn’t do this again not recommend it the tour was not a pretty scenic ride it was through construction sites and areas that were trash everywhere on the side of the hills and the first half of the are was all brown and the ocean views the beaches were all dirty with some kind of brown stuff would want to go on those beaches bottom line is it’s not a beautiful scenic ride our waitress kept dropping drinks the floor was dirty and stick the bathroom had no water so toilets didn’t flush could wash hands and they didn’t have any sanitizer
