Be sure to give yourself time to enjoy your beach day in St. John. Getting to Red Hook takes nearly a half hour, esp. if your ship docks at Crown Bay. The ferry and then taxi from Cruz Bay to the beach adds another half hour at least. Plus, the taxis like to leave full, so you might actually sit in the taxi for a few minutes waiting for other fares. In other words, get off the ship early. Don't dilly dally and have a leisurely breakfast that day. Enjoy. 😁

I think I might do this. How do you buy ferry tickets?

There is one ferry from Red Hook St Thomas to Cruz Bay St John. There is also another one from Charlotte Amalie to Cruz Bay. We always like to take the Red Hook Ferry. Check out www.Vinow.com for more information.

Yes! We did an excursion once where we ferried over to St. John, then we took a tour of the island. St. John is breathtakingly beautiful! The water doesn’t seem real. 😍
