Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas Port Q&A

4.6
This might be a silly question but if schedule says you are at a port from 7am- 6pm, does this mean you have to be back to the ship by 6pm or the ship LEAVES at 6pm?

It usually means the ship is going to depart at 6pm…and usually boarding ends 30 mins prior

It means to ship leaves at 6 PM. Do you normally have to be back on at least an hour before. They should either make an announcement or put it in the daily itinerary that you get while you’re on board. That usually have it listed when you disembark the ship to.

Greg, hardly helpful! They tell you to be back early because everyone would be running in last minute and they need time to close the gang way. Always ask if unsure, crew and pax (except for Greg) are upbeat and helpful. Blessed cruise!

Yeah for Royal they raise the gangway 30 mins before the listed departure time. So if the time is 6pm they want you back on board no later than 5:30pm

The Funniest and Sadest sight is watching Pier Runners. It's never Silly to ask when the ship is leaving. Allways Know when your ship is leaving and NEVER Push your Luck! Always take down the number of the Port Authority from your Daily Planner. They can be very helpful if you find yourself in a JAM!

If you are at Coco Cay, there is no reason at all to miss the ship. You should have left the island ASAP. Unless you have more money than brains. Just another way RCL found to take your money, and ruin cruising. Boycott RCL!!!

Also remember you must ALWAYS go by ship time . Not Island time.

Before you leave the gangway there will be posted the all aboard time. 6 pm would be the time the ship departs.

The staff actually do a round up at Coco Cay I can’t see how anyone could be left behind there

Answered by PrincessMeka on September 05, 2023

when you get off the ship at any port, they will have some signs that show the all aboard time. that will be the time you need to already be back on the ship. it's usually 1 hour before they are scheduled to leave port.at coco cay, sometimes they may extend it, so always pay attention to the signs when you get off the ship that day.

Answered by SchmonkeyBoy on September 04, 2023

The ship will depart at 6PM and you need to be back onboard any time between 30 -45 minutes before the departure time. They will announce and post what time you need to return to the ship. Make sure your watch is on ship time.
