This is a beautiful little Canadian town along the water that we walked through easily without booking any excursions. There are many hand made crafts and artisans right off the ship and in the town, making this a good place to shop- but there isn’t much else to do. Well, shop or go to the Casino- right in the middle of town next to the hockey arena. You can’t miss it. A really lovely waterfront too.

Nice excursion. We went to an indigenous peoples center and museum first. Houses in Sydney are almost all frame houses, large ones where the industrialists and professionals lived, down to very small ones where the coal and steel workers lived. Our second stop in Sydney was a museum in the little village of Whitney Pier. Very interesting and the locals were so hospitable. They served us homemade oat cakes and a beverage.

There is great shopping at the port. You can catch a taxi to downtown

Sydney was kinda a let down without an excursion. Shopping was almost non-existent besides a huge craft show-like building at the port. The highlight was a fish and chips shack at the marina called Lord Fins. Find it, it's incredible.
