We did a McCarthy's Party tour. Had a great guide, inexpensive and very informative. We were ahead of all the crowds, so it was nice. The only downside, was lunch. We paid 54.00 for 1 piece of fish and chips, and a pint of beer. I thought that was a little stiff. But is was good, nothing spectacular, but good. We ate at the Duke of Duckworth Pub.

I really liked this port. We did a Trip Advisor walking tour, and it was great! The shore excursions to Signal Hill looked good, also. I’m very glad to have gone there. They even had Newfoundland Dogs to greet us at the port!

Walked around on our own for 5 miles. Seafood Exchange restaurant, which everyone recommended for fresh lobster was overpriced (US$50 each with tax and tip) and just a little above average - recommend looking for a different place if you want fresh lobster.

Be prepared to walk (climb) many steps to go see the famous churches in the Historic Walk. The Basilica and the Cathedral are worth visiting. We walked along Victoria Street to see the colorful houses along the hills. I enjoyed the visit even though my legs got tired.
