Bar Harbor, Maine Port Reviews

I loved this town. It is very touristy now, but also vibrant and welcoming. We did the Acadia small group tour and the guide was brand new and basically just reading her notes to us while trying to drive! Made me nervous. We had very few stops and only 10 min at the ones we did make so not much time to get pictures, use the toilet, get a drink or visit a gift shop.

Main reminded me of Newport RI. I really liked it. If your in town looking or shopping at the local shops definitely try Cherrystones. Definitely with the money.

Since it’s the first American port after Bermuda, everyone (regardless of whether you are going ashore or not) must go through Passport Inspection. NCL’s procedure, calling people to the Inspection by group, based upon your lifeboat assignment sounds like a good idea, the EXECUTION was very poor, resulting in LONG lines, how hard would it be for the person making the announcements, to pick up a walky - talkie or check out CCTV Security cameras to see if the line has moved at all before calling more groups! This total disregard of passenger comfort stood out when compared to ALL other interactions with NCL crew aboard the Pearl.

Lovely little tourist town!

Seems like a nice place to spend a weekend. The Nature Cruise excursion allowed close up views of what people on the cruise ship were peaking at with high powered cameras and binoculars. We saw harbor seals, various birds including bald eagles and harbor porpoises.

Beautiful port, large variety of shops, restaurants. Lots of walking (uphill), not handicapped accessible. Will definitely be going back in my RV though so I can spend more time

Lobster Bake was our choice for excursion. We had a nice tour and lobster lunch was very good. Bar Harbor was interesting and we would definitely like to go back and spend more time there.

Bar harbor is always nice but i did not like the two hour wait for a tender to take us to shore or that our excursion was canceled at the last minute. We had booked a lighthouse boat tour. We were told the tour operator canceled all boat tours but we saw them operating once we got to land. What gives??

Acadia NP was beautify even without much in the way of fall colors.

Nice little town to walk around. Geddy’s is always good place to eat.
