If you were not on a ship excursion, you had to get up early and queue for tender tix, which they started giving out early due to long lines. Many did not get to the port for hours. Acadia has become the WDW of National Parks. Unbelievable crowds in BH and Acadia. Could barely move on the streets. Was to Acadia in late September 2018 and it was very busy, but nothing like this. Parks buses were on schedule, this time they were an hour off. Total gridlock; park buses bumper to bumper and cars everywhere. Easy paths packed with tourists. BH is limiting the amount of cruise ships, but we only met one other couple from the ship there. Maybe limit the cars coming into the park? We hiked about 80% of the way to Cadillac Mountain, due to slow moving park buses that could not get us to trail head in time to finish. Buses were full on the way out, and we were petrified we would miss the ship's tender. Ship cancelled or changed time of many excursion, and pax were upset. Many stayed on ship. Foilage was ok, but it is nicer where I live in the mountains of Western PA.

You have to take a tender into this port. Beautiful, gorgeous area. It was a beautiful day. Had a great excursion to Acadia National Park (Intimate Acadia National Park tour - small tour), and still had time to get a great lunch at West Street Cafe and do some shopping and walking around.

Beautiful port, excursion was a bust, the tour guide while local was not very good at pointing out sites. The last stop was "lobstertalk" way too long and it got very boring. The excursion description didn't mention this stop, had they, we would have not taken the tour.

Acadia National Park was beautiful. Don’t miss an opportunity to visit on any of the tours. Geddy’s has a tasty lobster roll & the blueberry ale was delicious.

My favorite port of the trip. They have amazing scenery and the town is very charming. The tender ride back and forth is a nice boat ride.

Needed way more time in Bar Harbor! The immigration process meant we lost 2-3 hours of our port time. I understand that HAL would give priority to its excursion patrons but I was disappointed that we lost so much time there. And since this was the only port where we needed tenders, that also cut down on our time. But Acadia is beautiful. The town of Bar Harbor is also a fun place I would like to go back to one day.
