Unfortunately, it rained in Sitka so sightseeing was limited. We did a shore excursion to Fin Island for lunch followed by whale watching tour. We got to see orcas! The food was exceptional and the staff on the excursion was kind and professional. After the boat ride, we went back to the ship because of the rainy cold weather. Would have really liked to see more but at least I was there!

Pretty port. We booked a shuttle for $20per adult, kids free to see the bear refuge and raptor refuge. The bear place is an old water treatment plant. There are three enclosures with 8 bears total. It was a little underwhelming. But you do get to see them up close and person. Raptor place is better, plus there are some trails you can walk around. If you choose to walk from downtown to the raptor place, no problem. Very very long walk to bear world, wouldn't recommend that. Also, the shuttle didn't come to the visitors center at the end of the walk from downtown. It was another 15 minutes to Centennial Hall where they were at. there is an awesome playground a coupe of minute off the port though for the kids.

The Sea Otter/Wildlife Quest that I chose was an absolute rip off. We saw a few otters on a buoy, an eagles nest, and the excursion lasted 2 hours, not the 4.25 hours that was listed.

We did "Best of Sitka" excursion. Very pretty and clean town. Unfortunately the bears and eagles were in captivity. Beautiful trails to wander about in Sitka National Historical Park.

Town needs to get more involved in providing interesting sites .... not just jewelry salesmen trying to sell $18,000 earrings. Excursions were limited

I gave this town 4 stars instead of 5 because there isn't much to do or see unless you're doing an excursion.
