The plan was to enjoy the shops and do a casual walk around what had been described as the prettiest town in Alaska. But on the pier we saw several tours offered and we chose to take one which had multiple stops.We thoroughly enjoyed the Fortress of the Bear which was an area made for orphaned bear cubs. We stopped at an area that featured totem poles and could see wood carvers on the site. The tour included a few scenic area stops for pics. All in all, a good day.

We did the Sea Otter & Wildlife Quest excursion and loved it, even though it rained the entire time we were on the boat. The highlight of our excursion was seeing 2 Gray Whales, which our naturalist said is very rare. Even if we had not seen the Gray Whales, this would've been a great excursion.

Was awesome shuttle buses were supplied as town was 10 minutes away from ship. Was surprised the size of the town and out returning shuttle driver was so knowledgeable and funny

Could have spent 3 days here. So much to see and do. We walked around the totem park and visited the Russian Orthodox church. This place has a fascinating history.

Rainy day, but wonderful. Sea otter and wildlife quest was great. Lots of otters and whales and narrator was especially knowledgeable.

Went on a whale watch trip, booked it once onshore. Highliners coffee shop nice place to stop for coffee and a snack.

Enjoyed this port very much, but again, could have used a couple more hours. The main complaint is that if you take a shore excursion, there isn't time left for leisurely exploring the town itself. And it's a delightful town!
