Just pay for an excursion, we never left port because the line was so long for the general shuttle.

We did a sound kayak adventure that let us feel like we were really experiencing Alaska and saw good wildlife.

It was very enjoyable. We went to the salmon hatchery and did the tour there. We also visited a museum. Both were excellent.

A bit small and better to do something else.

We arranged a tour through Card Player Cruises that encompassed a city tour, a rainforest hike, observing salmon spawning in a stream, visiting the Raptor Center, and exploring the Fortress of the Bears. This excursion is also available through Royal Caribbean and is conducted within the city. It proved to be an excellent choice and was the highlight of our excursions in Alaska. Although it was raining when we arrived in Sitka, the precipitation ceased as our tour commenced. Our local guide was exceptional! Sitka is the place to see different types of wildlife.

Visit the raptor center and hospital for birds of prey.

We did the Raptor Center. Port was fine. Excursion was good.

We explored the town, got lunch and went on a tour to see the Raptor Center, Fortress of the Bear and a short hike.

I was excited for this day and our planned events Sitka's Great Hiking Adventure. The day with room service which is actually better than main dining breakfast. Our excursion was only 6 people or 3 couples and it was perfect. We were bused to the center of town and got on a pretty cool fishing boat for 15-minutes each way. Upon our return we decided to walk to the Sitka National "Totem Pole" Park. It was beautiful. We were able to get up close and see salmon swimming upstream and leisurely strolling through the forest. Wanted to finally enjoy some Alaskan King Crab however our choices were limited as there was a StarLink internet outage and many restaurants could not accept credit cards. So we settled for dining at Sitka Burger and Crab and it was surprisingly delicious and inexpensive. Later that night I went to Le' Bistro for a great dinner.
