Some ships do have to port a good ways away. I don't believe you will have to worry about that on Celebrity.

Right downtown. You can see the whole town from the observation deck of your ship.

Depends on who you're sailing. Most lines dock downtown but NCL built its own port that's about 6 miles away.

My first ever cruise was on Seabourn Sojourn , and the ship docked at the main pier at downtown Ketchikan. I’ve booked a second Transpacific cruise (September 2023 ) on SilverSeas Muse also stopping at Ketchikan. Apparently higher end luxury cruise lines have priority ?
