Didn't get to spend anytime in the town since excursion took up time. Would have liked just about 1 more hour so we could have walked round town.

The Discovery whale watching trip was the best excursion ever. Very informative and we saw humpbacks and orcas. They guarantee you will see whales. Totally worth it.

We did the Mendenhall Glacier experience through Princess. An incredible day and a great amount of time at the glacier to enjoy and explore.

Got off the ship and had to wind through the poles and roped off area to wait for the bus. My friend knocked over a pole which came down in front of her and she tripped over it. She scraped her elbow, bruised her knee and pulled a muscle in her side. She is now under doctor care and the ship doctor was $200 upfront just to fill out paperwork. She was told once you step off the ship you are no longer our responsibility. We were about 50 feet off the gangway.

Rained very hard. However did enjoy whale watching. The mendenhall glacier left us speechless. We do wish there had been a shuttle around town.

Wow. State capital but not a big place. Tourist strip by cruise ship terminal just that - recommend skipping. Government buildings nice to see.

We enjoyed our excursion in Juneau. We took it through the ship. We went to Glacier Gardens, Salmon Hatchery & then to Mendenhall Glacier. At the Gardens we had a tour to the top of the mountain where we had a great lookout point. At the Hatchery we had a tour of the operation. When we got to the Glacier we were on our own (75 min). We decided to hike to the falls for photos. We had just enough time for the home & a bathroom break before our bus came for us. The only downside was that I wanted more time for the visitor center @ the glacier.

We caught a last minute city tour with trip to Mendenhall glacier which was amazing! The hubs did his own tour riding a rental bike so we did not have a lot of time at Mendenhall, we would have liked to hike there. Wanted to visit Tracy's crab shack but Optah was in port so they shut it down and didn't open it until 3pm and by then there was a long line.
