A cute little town where you could do some shopping for souvenirs. Be sure to take a shuttle into town to get the full experience. Gondola ride was enjoyable.

Was so peaceful and tranquil here. Would love to go back and explore more.

Did not take any excursions. Another beautiful place to walk around.

Went kayaking - had a great time. Saw lots of bald eagles and learned about the area.

Gorgeous. We just walked around and enjoyed the beauty of Alaska. There was a big gift shop and a restaurant-not much, but gorgeous views. There were also a few fire pits, so we sat by the fire, drank coffee and enjoyed the views. There were zip lines and other paid activities, but we didn’t do any of that. They looked fun though.

4 hours in port. This just seemed like something brand new built to provide a port to do some zipline runs, sell some beer, eat a donut and spend the last of your cash before the big sale home. Was not happy about this stop. Just a gimmick.

Of you’re not into thrill seeking then this is a major bite and tourist trap. They couldn’t have removed more of the local native culture from this place if they tried.

Went whale watching. It was fantastic. Saw many whales, including mom and calves. Some were right at the side of the boat. It was amazing. The port area was nice. All activities and businesses owned and operated by the people who live there (Tlinget?). Talked with several folks at these establishments about this. Stopped at the bar/ restaurant located at the small tram that took is from the ship across to the cannery area. Beautiful building with a huge fireplace (thank god, as it was freezing and windy that day!). After whale watching, went back and had halibut sandwiches. SO delicious! Cannery area was nice, albeit touristy. Very nice local jewelry and art. Nice display about the history of the area. Never got in to town, not enough time with whale watching. Everyone very friendly.
