Fredericia, Denmark

The people in little Fredericia a are so excited to see the ship come in. the band plays when we arrive and leave, and they shoot off cannons, the friendly people are easy with directions. It only takes 2 hours see whole town, so do this in the afternoon on the way back to the ship after you have taken a train trip to Kolding to see Koldinghaus castle. 10 min train ride (easy to buy $6 ticket sold in machine in train station that is in english or what ever language you need) train station is a 20 min walk from pier

St. Petersburg, Russian Federation

you must use a tour group in Russia, but it does not have to be thru the ship. book ahead on line ,print up your tour ticket and extra copies of you passport . Bring an individual copy for each person in you party, the russian immigration is very picky! our tour was fabulous, great city 2 days just covers the highlights

Stockholm, Sweden

big city so you need transportation, especially if ship docks at Frihamer pier. Opted for Hop on Hop Off that picks up at pier. this was by far the worst HOHO I have ever been on Most of the time the commentary did not work and when it did, the information was sparse on the sites we were passing. Have you own guide book with you !

Helsinki, Finland

easy to get around on public transportation. Bus 14 picks up at pier, 8 euros gets an all day pass for bus, tram ferry, Tram 2 or 3 takes you all over to all sites, take the ferry out to the fort on Soumenlinna island

Copenhagen, Denmark

we walked this city, could have done Hop on hop off, but it was the same company that ran the HOHO in Stockholm, 1 day not enough even to see highlights. loved Rosenborg castle

Tallinn, Estonia

wonderful well preserved, can walk to everything, but not for anyone with mobility issues, hilly cobblestone streets lots of stairs. do your own walking tour with a download like Rick Steves. Plenty of shops. I love this town

Warnemunde (Berlin), Germany

We were going to catch a train to Rostock and Scherwin castle but a train strike ended that plan so we walked around this small resort town and were pleasantly surprised what a cute "beach town". There is a church,lighthouse, nice park, plenty of eating and shopping, and huge sandy beaches
