WI-FI internet on board

Just wondering, if you purchase a wi-fi package on board, can you use

Zoom, Skype or Facebook messenger to make phone calls to family back home??

I had no idea it really existed..interesting..!!!

Well...if we managed to take one together, I imagine a few of us could do some damage to the drink pkg...tsk tsk...just turribul eh?

One nice thing about all cruise lines -- they always seem to have a Lil Sumpin on the menu in one variation or another -- it is my favorite order!

Ah yes .. one of the things I really like about NCL was their addition of Lil Sumpin ... wonderful flavour

Sat next to a guy near the pool (NCL about 1 1/2 years ago..)thought he could actually stay in touch, run some kind of biz, etc etc...it was a sea day as I remember...after the usual pleasantries involving crabbing about the "lousy connection"...I convinced him to put the thing away "for awhile" and relax and have a lil sumpin with me....I don't know what he did the rest of the cruise, but that afternoon was quite pleasant, what I remember of it...thats the idea isn't it??

Point is, you can try it, spend all kinds of dough on it, but this isn't the USN where you can communicate with anyone anywhere before during and after you blow them up.......more like ET phone home. They guarantee nothing...hmmmm....sounds familiar.....

It depends on the cruise line and the ship and the plan you purchase. Some cruise lines like NCL offer a variety of wifi packages and I believe the top tire and one of the others is supposed to allow this. Cannot vouch for how well it works but it is there.

I haven't tried any of those, but I doubt if they would work well with the weak wifi on board a ship. It's a technological miracle that there is internet at all in the middle of the ocean.

I think it depends on the cruise line.
