What to do post-cruise in Miami/Ft. Lauderdale

We will be on the NCL Bliss. Our ship arrives in Miami at 8:00 AM on Saturday, but our flight is at 6:55 PM out of Fort Lauderdale. What can we do after we get off the ship since we will have all our luggage with us? I just don’t want to be sitting at the ft Lauderdale airport for hours but I also don’t want to lug around suitcases the entire day.

We did the big red bus. They stored every ones luggage in a locked trailer and provided transportation to Miami airport. I am not sure but I bet they also go to Fort Lauderdale. It is hop on hop off and goes to many places including Coral Gables and little Havana. It starts at Bayside market which has a lot to see and do also. Its only about a mile from POM. I don't remember but I think we took a taxi from the ship.

If you have never done an Everglades Airboat tour, you may think about taking one.

Check with your cruise line, they may have a shore tour that includes taking you to the airport at the end of the tour. Your luggage is safely stored in the bus while you see the "sights", gators or whatever you choose. We have done this a few times when we had late flights and found it a good way to spend our time.
