Virgin Cruiser, complete novice

Hello to all

Graham & Sue from Southampton, England

We will be travelling on the Celebrity Equinox around the Med starting from Barcelona on 31st May 2016, it seems like private shore excursions are the way to go, and have started one tour group in Rome, but am nervous that they will not fill, only need a total of eight people to make it financially a real good deal.

Should I wait before setting up another for Florence and Pisa, or do private tours advertised on Joe Banana's website, and forum boards in all the cruise sites, usually fill pretty easy.

Any advice would be very welcome, as it seems it would be very easy to catch a big financial cold if it all went wrong, and we were left holding the baby

Thanks in advance for your help and advice.

Thanks Glomarrone

We have booked three of the cruise lines shore excursions, Santorini in particular, as we are in port with four other ships, so that cable car down to the tender port is going to be hell, and the peace of mind you talk about is most relevant, but the others just didn't fit the things we wanted to see, so no choice but to search out independent tours, its just as I said, not sure about filling them.

I'm sure that you will love cruising. As for independent shore excursions, I never do them. I like the peace of mind using the ones offered by the cruise lines. I know that I pay for that peace of mind. I'm sure that others on this site can advise you. Lots of passengers successfully do arrange their own tours. Good luck arranging yours.
