Hi all! We are a couple looking for a travel agent to help us with booking our Alaska cruise for this summer!
How do travel agencies work? Are there any big names people have worked with? Or do we have to Google small, local places that offer these services?
First time cruisers here- thanks in advance for all your help!

We use online agencies like the one affiliated with this site (cruisesonly.com). We got a very good deal on a balcony for a Sept. 10, 2017 Celebrity Infinity cruise to Alaska!
Hi AJ Reputable, professional travel agencies will facilitate your planning process. Another option is to call the cruise line that you wish to travel on and ask about their land-sea tours. These may suit you quite well, especially if you are not familiar with the area in which you are traveling. Even if you opt not to book through the cruise line itself, you'll gain more information on which to base your final decision.
My suggestion is to go into a few different travel agencies in your town and see who gives you the most information that you are looking for. You may also want to chat with friends, coworkers etc to see if they can recommend a local travel agent who has worked well for them. Hope you
