Short version, cruise 5 days or less, no test required in the USA, but it remains in Canada or Bermuda. 6 Days or more testing still required. If you're traveling with a child, it still seems to be a hassle with them granting a "small number" of exemptions. They say theres clearly more to come, and the implication is it'll be soon.

I would strongly suggest anyone cruising within the next few months stay up to date with their "changes", given that sometimes they need an editor to eliminate confusion. As an example, I actually "clicked the link" which took me to the "full version" of that notification email. If you scan down to the section called TESTING REQUIREMENTS (UPDATED 7/29/22), you will find their explanation of the difference between merely being "fully vaccinated" as opposed to being "up-to-date", and requirements for each. didn't know that did you????seems to me the requirements are EXACTLY THE SAME...test within 3 days...or did I miss something?

I try GRIFF, but then I remember that periodically we climb up the monkey bars to get onboard....are we having fun yet? Sometimes I think the "fun" can be overrated...and too expensive....

I declare Monkey Business (or Monkey Shines, if you prefer)!

We have to make fun of this stuff

Agreed...and I think theres a whole bunch of behind the scenes yakking going on that us mere passengers will probably never know about. First, for all practical purposes, they do away with actual numbers and detailed reporting...THEN they loosen testing requirements....this clearly is being done with the CDC's blessing...wonder just how far into the future "they" have this mapped out?? how about a case of monkey pox onboard to throw a monkey wrench into the works?? sorry, couldn't resist...it isn't really funny...

Really what is the difference of 5 days or less and 6 or more/ Is this like the Virus not attacking you once you sit down for a meal (no mask needed) but then you need a mask the rest of the time. Hopefully this means we will do away with testing completely

B2B cruises of 5 days or less each leg will have no testing requirement. Thus, you could have up to 10 straight days of cruising with no test, but a single 6+ day cruise will require a test. I think they're trying to avoid in-terminal testing as much as possible.

Yeh...what if this or what if that? I can think of several scenarios that would cause confusion. Trying to interpret their "notifications" is becoming an art form...one you can't afford to guess wrong about what they mean. And I wouldn't bet on the average rep or even TA understanding it...so the age-old advice about "calling them" welll....bleccchhh!!!...meanwhile, I still don't understand THEM deciding theres something called "fully vaccinated" vs. "up-to-date"...BOTH seem to allow for 3 day testing for a 7+ day cruise. Unless of course theres some behind the scenes deal with the good ol CDC.

Interesting 5-days or less. What if you sail B2B?

Yep ... it depends on the destination as some destinations still require pre boarding tests such as Canada. All the cruise lines are dropping pre cruise testing unless local requirements state otherwise.
