Talk to me about the new Carnival Horizon ship!

First time cruisers going on a bestie 40th birthday cruise April 2020 for 8 days. Anything specific/special about this ship we should know, take, not take, do, etc?

I was on Horizon last year. There is a Guy’s Burger. I did the sky ride. The sky ride is very fun and very scary. You will enjoy this ship.

Definitely go to Guys Burgers if they have it and get there early: there's usually a line, even on Embarkation Day! The burgers are delicious and are made fresh for you right there. They are a heart attack waiting to happen but so worth it!

Yes your suitcases will fit under the bed.

It's an excursion, sorry for the confusion. Look at excursions on Grand Turk, and it's cabana's. Sorry was in a hurry.

This is good info but I don't understand about the cabins by the pool. Are you talking about cabins that aren't on the ship? How do you get one of these cabins. Sorry first cruise coming up.

Been on the Vista, first cruise out of NY. Been on the Horizon, brand new as well. On the Vista we choose a Spa Suite, high and forward. Was interested in the Havana suites but they were new and I wasn't sure how it was going to work. Booked in the Havana suite on the Horizon and was the best cruise I have ever taken and we sail platinum on Carnival. Having the aft pool, hot tubs and bar all to yourself (about 100 guests total) is a great experience. The one complaint I always have with Carnival is their pools and hot tubs. Very crowded and their adults only deck is nice but again gets very crowded. The Havana section of the ship is restricted to Havana cabins and suites only up to 7:00PM. Made a world of difference when sailing on long trips (11 days). The ship is beautiful, no doubt. I highly recommend getting a reservation for the Chef's table. It's a great experience on Carnival's ships and the Horizon and Vista have a very beautiful special dining/cooking area for this. The steak house is a must, excellent food. You will enjoy the ship, lots of great things to do. The horizon has an IMAX theater which we went to twice. They also have an interactive movie theater, small but exciting. Depending on the movie (shorts), you feel the action, get wet, bounced around etc. Lots of fun. The shows are excellent, overall I have no complaints with the ship, the crew or the food. All very good. The ship is big, you will have fun.

ONE MORE SUGGESTION, you are probably stopping in Grand Turk. If you are get a cabin poolside if there are any available. There are only about 12 of them. It's worth every penny. The place gets crowded and there could be several ships in there at one time. The pool and beach get crowded. You can take all of your stuff off the ship, lock it in the pool side cabin if you want to hit the beach or pool. Air conditioned, private balcony poolside, butler service and if I remember correctly it only costs $200 for the day and I think you can have up to 6 guests. Your experience in Grand Turk will be great. If your going to Amber Cove do the same thing. That was an amazing time. Book them now if there are any left.

I haven't been on Horizon, but I have been on Vista so if it's the same, you'll be able to fit them under the bed. At least most of them.

Very nice review, question though, as are we able to store suitcases under the beds or must they take up space in the closet?

I viewed it on youtube. Give it a look.
