Self-serve laundry

I have recently seen a post that the self-serve laundry has been removed from the Veendam. Does anyone know if this is Permanent? If so, are there any options for ironing clothes onboard?

Thank you. HAL finally answered my email confirming that. Lol, only took 2 weeks for reply.

Thank you very much for the reply! Now I know how to plan better!

I believe it is a permanent thing. They reconfigured the ship to make room for other things.

Yep, and not all for the better...just more expensive...lots of things I got used to either were done away with or cheapened. It would've been simpler to not know any better methinks. But its still the best bang for the vacation buck...IF you shop around, IF you know what questions to ask, and IF you take the time to do the homework. (which to me, is part of the fun of it) You're buying a big ticket item...and usually more than once. A mistake can be costly, especially if it could've been avoided. Not all cruise lines are created equal....not even a little...other than the fact that their ships all float...well....mostly..sometimes they bump into things...

LOL, finding that out myself. Checking the forums constantly. Our first cruise was in 2002, our second is this September. Lot has changed in 17yrs lol.

That's why I specifically said to look up the laundry prices on CELEBRITY...they offer deals only at certain perk levels or certain cabins. The cost is per piece. Most of what folks need to know about their particular cruise line is available if they access the lines website. Everything been asked and usually answered in there....Especially if its someones first cruise. I remember ours...lucky I could find my head with both hands. I learned to sit on the PC and LEARN...the more I learned, and then asked folks .02's, the smarter I got. Unfortunately, the more addicted I became...or fortunately actually....

that was from the Celebrity site chat.

I don't know about Celebrity, you would have to check with them, but Holland America has unlimited laundry service for about $49 on the 7 day cruise, and $28 for the unlimited ironing per cabin.

Might be a good idea to look up the laundry prices in CELEBRITY...it could turn out to be the most expensive pair of shorts you ever had washed.

My wife and I are doing our first cruise starting late June on Celebrity Solstice, Alaska out of Seattle. So the ship usually offers a laundry service and no self serve? Would be good to know.
