Royal Caribbean making progress vaccinating Operations Crews!

As of today, the Operations Crews (Thats the folks piloting the ship, running the mechanics of the ship, upkeeping the ship, and feeding the crew) on Explorer of the Seas, Liberty of the Seas, Freedom of the Seas, and Navigator of the seas have all received their initial dose of their Vaccine at the Port of Miami! Almost 17% of the ships in the Fleet have now been partially vaccinated!

Even though the operations crew may account for as little as 1/6th of the crew, dependent on ship size, this IMO, is a great start to hit the 98% Crew Vaccination requirement from the CDC. I have heard that RCI will be striving for 100% vaccination rate for the crew, and has encouraged their currently furloughed crews to get the vaccine as soon as possible at home to prepare for recall sailing orders. However, at this time, RCI will not be issuing sailing orders to any crew from India, due to vaccine availability and positivity rates in that country,

Anyone else hear about other cruise lines???

This is a good sign. Everyone is getting ready to sail again.

Sounds like Carnival isnt gonna try to play with that 95% passenger rate, judging by the 3rd from last paragraph

Evidently the crews on the Carnival Breeze and Carnival Vista were vaccinated in Galveston this week. Plus it is reported that Port Canaveral has also vaccinated Carnival crew. It is my impression the ports are doing their best to get the ships ready to sail!
