Questions from a first time cruiser

Hi, sailing on the vista in may -1st cruise ever for my 50th birthday. So excited!! So what night is 80s night and white night on a 7 day cruise? We don't want to miss it and made reservations for jiji kitchen. If anyone knows when they usually are on a 7 day.

also we have things scheduled for 2 of the ports- but cozumel we were thinking of just shopping and stop somwhere for a drink or lunch. Is this a bad idea for this port or sld we book something here too bc there wont be enough to do or horribly busy/ packed everywhere if we dont book something?
any suggestions or help please. Thank you

Shopping is usually pretty safe there, but if it's a port I've never been to, I like to book an excursion to help me get the lay of the land.

aww NERTZ...of course its a WOW number...we're up to #23...when it stops being a WOW number, we're gonna stop doing it!!! (not!) ENJOY your cruise! I know you will!!!!!

Welcome to the wonderful world of cruising! I agree with what everyone has said! We are getting on our 40th cruise in a few hours. We don’t plan to be cured of this addiction! By the way we started cruising in 1998 so that isn’t a wow number, just sounds big!Wink

Welcome, be careful cruising can be become addictive. :-). I agree Cozumel is a nice shopping port.

Cozumel cruise port has plenty of shopping within the terminal itself. There is also shopping and eateries outside and quite near the cruise terminal exit, There will be scores of vendors offering tours, beaches etc there as well. Lots of choices.

Well! CONGRATULATIONS!! what took you so long? watch out, its addictive.

We've done CCL enough to realize first, you don't have to wear white, or if you do, its just a white T or shorts, or not. Nobody really cares. If memory serves it was a Tuesday, but that was on different ships. As far as Cozumel goes, its a good port to wander and shop in. Lotta small junque stores, and the same larger ones the cruise lines shill for. (same stuff, different port). My suggestion, have a leisurely breakfast...wait till the mad rush to get off is over, STROLL down the pier...STROLL around, skip the on shore restaurant (unless you insist) and return to the ship without the line to board. Then you discover the real secret...just how incredibly pleasant the ship becomes when about 3,000+ of your newest friends aren't on board. Don't miss sailaway when you lean over the rail and watch the latecomers straggle back. very entertaining...ENJOY THE HAYULL OUT OF YOUR CRUISE!!!
