Planning a group mediterranean cruise

About to step out of my box and plan a Mediterranean cruise for my travel group in 2021 maybe in September. We have been up and down the Caribbean, so we are ready for something new. My group consists a range of ages from 70 to 25. We are looking for a 7 days sailing western Europe .. Any suggestion on what cruise ship and advice? Thanks in advance

I did the Mediterranean on MSC Musica. We left from Venice Italy and traveled to Greece, Turkey and Croatia. Croatia wasn't originally on the itinerary but was substituted due to an unrest in Egypt. The Musica is a beautiful ship and we enjoyed every port.

This is what we did on RC's "Grandeur Of The Seas":

4 days before cruise: Fly from home to Rome with a connection in Heathrow

3 days before cruise: Arrive in Rome and explore the city

Embarkation Day: Board ship for a week with stops in Athens, Ephasis, and Santorini. Then back to Rome.

Debarkation Day: Fly back to Heathrow, spend 3 days in London

Final Day of trip: Fly back home

Can be pricey compared to a Caribbean Cruise. Good luck with your booking and ultimate cruise. Enjoy.

Opinion, unlike the Carribean where the ship can be the destination, the Med ports are the real destinations. So selecting the newest super cruise ship isn't as important. Many people will be spending their time off the ship. So look for a mid-size quality line that you can eat well and relax between excursions. We find starting in Barcelona to be an easy port to access from the airport. If you start in Rome, you have an 1+ hour trip through congestion to get to the port (Civitavecchia).

I loved my Cruises in the Med, I will suggest that you try and do a longer cruise, with the time and cost of getting to Europe 7 days is short. I have done the 11 night Greek Islands cruise on Celebrity and loved it (we hit Greek islands, Athens, Italy and Turkey). it was a port almost every day, very active cruise. Some times in November you can get Re-positioning cruise that are 14 nights from Europe, through the med and ending in Florida. No jet lag when you get back to the states and a great price if you get that much vacation time.

I’ll be following this discussion. What an awesome adventure!

No but any cruise to anywhere is great.

European cruises tend to be a bit expensive especially the excursions.
