Cruise Passenger in "Bad Shape" in Hospital in Belize | Cruise Law News

Passengers, who usually don't know whats going on anyway, the media, who revel in this kind of stuff and if it isn't really hot, they'll MAKE it that way, or the cruise lines, who have all kinds of skin in this game....just how many cases do YOU think are on board???

An excerpt from the latest post from Jim Walker's Cruise Law News

Last week, the Sun Sentinel newspaper in Fort Lauderdale inquired into the number of COVID-19 cases on Carnival’s cruise ships. A Carnival representative responded by stating “. . . we are not reporting specific numbers.”

Over the last twenty years, Carnival Cruise Line and its parent Company, Carnival Corporation, have struggled with basic traits of honesty and transparency. The disclosure of the true number of guests and crew infected with COVID-19 would go a long way to begin in regaining the public’s trust. Of course, Carnival Corporation has been convicted of not only numerous environmental crimes in continuously polluting the air and water for the past decade but has repeatedly been convicted of lying to the U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Department of Justice. Unfortunately, this cruise line is a recidivist corporate felon which lies when it would do better to simply tell the truth.

No question of who ol' Jim Walker would vote for in your poll Yank.

Unless it come from the "horse's" mouth all bets are off for accuracy. I have seen reports of things (not on cruise ships) that I was part of that didn't come close to matching the truth. So like many things, there is a bit of truth on all sides.

There's plenty of "reviews" going to be posted between now and NOV/DEC...and folks aren't usually shy in the review section about griping either....I'm payng more attention, but I haven't seen anything even close to serious covid problems.....yet......glad to see someone's AC was dripping and "mustied" up the cabin...and they gave them an upgrade...aaaaahhhh...normalcy!!!! (guess they have a bunch of vacancies anyway...question is, how many?)

CCL Doesnt have the best track record of being forthcoming and/or honest with anything at all. I would not be surprised to hear that they dumped all of their sick crew into a hotel in Galveston, and are waiting for them to get better, and just working short handed.

Had an idea, and looked at the current location of VISTA...she turned around in the usual 9 hrs+ in Galveston yesterday, and is now midway in the Gulf heading for Roatan, like nothing happened.......so what exactly DID happen?...doesn't sound like a ship with a big "surge" of infections.....

Interesting take...I opined how easy that would be months ago...but what I was getting at, in the body of the article, which I guess you didn't get to, was the disparity in the COUNT of the infected....the ship, apparently, continues to cruise, and today's departure appears to be on time....

If I had to guess, passengers, only because of how easy it is to take vaccine cards. But, they aren't totally to blame, I can see cruise lines wanting to keep certain things quiet. From the little I read, it did seem that the reporter was biased, so who knows.

You're around third heading for home. Thats why I made it multiple choice...And I see you remembered the "environmental coverup"...How that Federal Judge didn't put a bunch of em in jail is beyond me.

As much as I like to see what cruise law news has to say (they do break a lot of stories) I find his leanings and reporting to be quite biased but that is his job. He is a lawyer that specializes in bashing and suing the cruise lines. But then on the other hand how much I can believe CCL (owners of Princess whom totally mishandled things in early 2020) who do not have a record of being 100% transparent. And yes this is the same CCL that totally ignores and tries to hide environmental infractions. In this case I tend to side with the news media.

CCL by not being transparent and trying to hide things are making it worse for themselves. Like a kid caught stealing a cookie trying to deny it. If this industry is ever to recover the cruise lines MUST be transparent, open and honest with what is happening and what they are doing. No more hiding things.
