NOT MY FAV TOPIC, BUT....

Just curious, any of you folks ever had the thing? If you did, and you can stand the memory, what was it like? Any idea how you got it?

Have avoided it, but a few years ago (pre Covid) Princess ship I was on had an outbreak that a good portion of the ship apparently got. Didn't know it, of course, at the time, but finishing that cruise was very similar to the experience of being on a ship right after restart - very few people on decks, no lines anywhere, all "stuff" removed from dining tables, no self serve, crew deep cleaning everything constantly... Notices delivered to cabins twice day (only mail that was delivered) reminding pax to not be on deck unless necessary, to not use public restrooms unless necessary and to wash hands; same announcements were made several times/day. Hand sanitizing stations miraculously popped up around the ship.

Seems like they did debark a bit differently in smaller groups, or something.

WOW! might want to hear more...or...mebbe not.......hmmmmm..........

HAD Noro on our last cruise, Medical great, be brought drugs for this. Sheltered in place for about 20 hrs.

We've managed to miss this particular bug on cruise ships, but my sister got it from a local restaurant a few years before Covid.

We have been fortunate enough to avoid "noro" BUT there are a few cruises where we brought something home. Happens when you travel and are in different environments. Noro also likes to make the school circuit. Probably been around for years ... we just called it the stomach flu when we were kids.

Ive never had it on a cruise ship...Although its just as bad on land. Extensive dehydration, which can be a severe problem for some individuals with preexisting medical conditions, like diabetes.

I am fortunate enough to have built relationships with people in advanced levels of emergency medicince, to allow for IV fluids to avoid being hospitalized.
