NEWS: Norwegian specialty dining goes à la carte

If they're not making enough money they should raise their fares instead of making the cruise unaffordable by charging for everything.

Dumb and dumber NCL. On the other hand this is a GREAT reason to go with Celebrity Go Big, Go Better, Go Best. INCLUDE tips, drinks, and internet for A LOT less than you would spend getting nickled and dimed. Just like the "old days" where a cruise was an elegant, stress free, no decision making, way to see the world.

Is it a'la Carte or is it NICKEL and DIME ??????

This is moving cruises more and more like a land based resort where only your room is covered. On NCL you need a dining package as the MDR service is not good.

I think this will back fire on NCL. It is one thing to pay a cover charge another to charge like going into a land restaurant. I don't mind specialty restaurants. However, I will not visit this a la carte.

Plain and simple... this irritates me.

The growing complexity of add-ons, beverage, and meal packages are going to backfire on the industry, though not all at once.

From an accounting perspective as well as customer satisfaction, this a la carte trend appears to be getting out of hand. The fact that an UDP on NCL doesn't include this new restaurant and a customer has to pay even more to dine there in addition to having paid for the dining package is utter madness.

Good luck with it NCL. I'm not sure it's going to go well in the long term.

I rarely visit specialty restaurants unless my TA or the cruise line gives it as a perk. And, one that is a la carte is even less appealing to me. I wish them good luck with it as others may find it to their liking.
