I wouldn't go so far as to "applaud the effort" when it comes to ANY cruise line "tinkering" with something as one of the most basic reasons folks cruise.....THE FOOD....and some how parse it so it seems like the right thing to do "for you"...altho I do understand why they're doing it......you can't even toss your cell in the safe and forget it for a week anymore....btw...and to take this thread in a total left turn..(sorry bout that)...I see rumblings about the dreaded "fuel supplement" rearing its pie ooogly head again....the more they deny, the more I suspect....

I will say that Royal just redid and streamlined their menu, which is what Carnival appears to be doing. Although I applaud the effort, I saw first hand that this didn't go well. I'm not a picky eater, but they only had maybe 2-3 choices and if you didn't like anything on the menu, there weren't many alternatives. In my case, they had mostly fish on the menu....that's great, if you like fish....which I don't. Didn't really care for the third option either.

I have sadly noticed escargot no longer on the menu every night the last 2 cruises.

Alot of people complained about the Changes in RCI's MDR menus a few months back, whereas the only discernable difference I noticed was that Escargot was not on the menu every night.

Glad to do it...Planning to do the MDR alot more...been to the specialties many times, and quite frankly, not really worth it...most of what they have are available more or less in the MDR. Course eating in them is a matter of choice anyway.

You could just review the menu on this thread. I'd be okay with that.

Yeh, i will,, the last few i really didn't bother doing a review, just laziness. And, although we have 5 booked including this, I'm really trying to keep an open mind when it comes to these changes, which seem to be everywhere...sort of like s$5t in a sheep meadow...no matter what the cruise lines say, they're doing it for their own bottom line benefit...not that I can blame them...seems like it doesn't matter what they adjust, replace, remove etc, they claim to be booked solid...the analysts however, have a different view, depending on the cruise line....there's only so much "can-kicking" a business can do......that debt is still there...., those new ships are still in the pipeline...and I don't mean just CCL......

Thanks for posting! You'll be trying the new menu before us, so I'm looking forward to review. My biggest disappointment is the lack of salmon on the "everyday section".
