NCL WEBSITE "DOWN FOR MAINTENANCE"

Sooooooooo....It became "21 days"..VERY early this AM, so early it was still yesterday in my world, I logged in, checked in, shortly thereafter they "blessed it" by computer review I guess and I printed out our boarding passes and luggage tags.

This afternoon, it occurred to me to log into the APP, since I hadn't done it since we downloaded it to my cell about 2 months ago. NCL says they have a "pre-cruise" feature, so you can mess around with things even when you're not onboard yet.

Well after 8 attempts with the thing telling me I entered my login/password wrong... I wandered over to the laptop and tried to log in...now getting some s/a notice about being down for maintenance...fooled around enough to realize it wasn't me. So this is the magic 21st day that they picked to do "maintenance"...(thats when it becomes legal to checkin y'see)...hogwash...used to be when you paid you could do it...great motivator if you ask me...

While I was at it, I looked at some of the reviews of the NCL APP posted in the GOOGLE PLAY STORE...you ought to take a look....dozens of complaints, and recent too.....they should be ashamed... Good thing everything I need I already printed, and i can see my bill on the room tv....we have all our reservations, and theres always guest services...but this is a crock...I can just see 1000+ or whatever people trying to check in TODAY, and getting THIS s/a message...and then trying to call...and getting madder and madder......

I'm glad...seems like hardly a day goes by with out reports of out of control fires all over the US.....where we are, its heavily wooded, Nat'l/State land all over..lots of rural land... But the biggest firebug in this state IS the Forest Service itself...they just LOVE their "controlled burns"....sometimes half the state is covered in smoke..on purpose..it's sure preferable to the "uncontrolled" kind....

Thanks for your concern. We are about 80 miles South of Boulder (the fires).

Agreed...Can't imagine them "picking" the first day of mass check in's for a cruise to do "Maintenace". Not voluntarily anyway.

Been my experience since the beginning of so-called IT depts that they march to a different drum...and speak in tongues. If you needed to download that NCL APP from GOOGLE PLAY for android phones, those reviews are scathing. I've seen the usual assortment of bad reviews (and good ones) for virtually every APP I've ever considered using. But I've never seen anything like this. If I was actually in charge of something at NCL, I'd print them, call the head of IT to my office, and ask him/her to explain it. Face to face....but I guess those days are long since over.

All I know is it "seems" to be running this am. I say "seems to" because I have no idea how well it will actually work onboard. Those reviews aren't confidence inspiring Messing with glitchy tech stuff while on a cruise (or any other time for that matter) ain't my idea of fun. Didn't seem to go thru this with the CCL APP....

BTW, Auntie, you aren't anywhere near those fires are you? I hope not...

It's always going to inconvenience someone, not matter when they do "maintenance". Much like you however, I wonder if it's just they got overloaded with passengers checking in at the same time. Somehow, the IT departments for cruise lines seems lacking to me.
