NCL understaffed? Read this story!

https://www.reddit.com/r/Cruise/comments/11ifd3m/if_yif_youre_currently_in_the_hiring_process_for_ncl

If you’re currently in the hiring process for NCL, be prepared to change your plans. Myself and a class of 40 new NCL hires are graduating Piney Point training today and were scheduled to leave for Hawaii to work on Pride of America tomorrow morning. As of one hour ago, we all found out that we’re being re-routed home, as they “over staffed” and all of our job positions have been filled. We have all quit our old jobs at home, some have sold their cars and houses, ended apartment leases, etc., and now we have to go home and figure out where to go. They are not providing anyone with any help or covering hotel expenses for anyone who no longer has a home. If you’re scheduled to attend Piney Point this coming week, call and see what your job status actually is before you make drastic life changes. I sold my car and quit my job already and have absolutely no where to go. I don’t understand how they can do this to people and get away with it.

BRAVO!

That one might actually be accurate....

So you're all saying that Reddit is an online social media sewer that is rife with lies, misinformation and outright propaganda? Shocking!

I guess I'll have to take with a grain of salt the thread I read in there about how our whole political and educational system was crafted by a superior alien race who wanted to insure that we would never advance to their level of intelligence and thus threaten their dominance.

But, then again.................

Propagation of false stories and misleading propaganda is why I very rarely pay any mind to what is on Reddit.

Folks who post regularly in here are operating in a paradise compared to the usual goings on in places like reddit. truly insulting post responses, name calling, flame wars and other such goings on are normal occurrences. go inquire about "ncl" (for example) work your way through a few threads, and see what you get...you may need a shower afterwards...we only have one (or possibly two) trolls in here, and they appear basically harmless, only mildly annoying...true trolls can do much better....

Sorry but I do not usually read REDDIT ... at all ... so before putting any credence in a story or posting from there would need to be substantiated from a reliable source.

I note that this is all related to Pride of America which is a unicorn in that this is an industry wide one of a kind, so nothing pertaining to it or its staffing is relevant for the rest of the company or industry.

The problem is REDDIT...and unverified news scrounged up on the internet..its like thousands of people being helped and cured at say, the MAYO CLINIC, but the ones who are dissatisfied and post get all the attention..who was the legendary radio guy who used to do these kinds of "human interest" things and THEN say..."and now THE REST OF THE STORY"....and the author of this post??

I read this post. I also read the original Reddit thread where this post came from, and I'm a bit confused. Are YOU the individual who originally posted this on Reddit (u/Queasy-Objective250) almost 3 weeks ago?

I read through the thread and found that the OP was allowed to stay on base until they were indeed transferred to the ship (Pride of America) last week.

So NCL honored their contract, it was just delayed a couple weeks. I can understand the initial anxiety and angst, but it seems to have all worked out. So what's the problem?
