Luvit!!! but I'm very familair with certain ships..so I know EXACTLY where to go. occassionally you can have the same bartenders b4 their contracts expire and they disappear..THATS fun.

Crawl the bars the first 1-2 days...some of these ships it does take that long...then claim your spot.

Well said.

Geeez guys, all that "kalkulatin" would either give me a headache or cause me to overshoot the mark (just to be on the safe side).

Yeh, at least once every cruise I attempt to do the booze math ..then I usually quit..too much effort, I really don't care, and she does it for me. I've noticed that towards the end, some of my new found temporary buddies have wilted under the strain...but that all comes from staying in one place for the cruise...pub crawls are rediculous...once you've found the right bar, and right seat....sit in it....old school....

As is always the plan.

"Shut up liver, you're fine."

Doing the math, regarding this, for RCI, their average break-even is a guest consuming around 15 $9 drinks per day...not accounting for the deeper discounts they may get for pallet pricing, etc.

The consumer's break-even, accounting for a $65 package price, and the gratuity automatically applied is just under 8 drinks...Im normally drinking at around 1.5 drinks an hour, for 16-18 hours...for 24-26 drinks per day....I am not helping their bottom line.

I guess I just have to make sure that I liberally overuse the drink package to make me feel better about this .....

AS I've posted several times, tipping in cash to CERTAIN people is what I do, regardless of the rest. I almost never use that "extra tip line" on a chit. I have thought about not prepaying gratuities...serious thought as a matter of fact, and then doing what you do...but then, theres bunches of folks who I'd be screwing..out of sight out of mind I guess...can't quite bring myself to do it...but given these increases, I can nickel and dime the lines too...in bigger chunks.........

Sigh

I never pay the cruise line's rate. That is my standard Day 2 of the cruise visit to the Customer Service desk. "Remove gratuities. I'll pay in cash."

I always tip in cash to ensure that every penny of it is going to the person it is intended for.
