Keeping in Touch With a Crew Member After a Cruise

I was wondering how many of us have ever kept in touch with a staff, officer, entertainer or crew member after a cruise?

We just sent a list of the formal and theme nights to the Piano Bar performer who will be on our World Voyage. The performers do not get the listing that passengers receive. Debbi was on the Grand Voyage with us last year. Can't wait to see her & her husband again in January. Am trying to remember all the names of the crew members that I knew on board from last year. I know that many will be the same.

Thanks for the great story!

i think that sometimes we forget that the crew have lives off the ship until we get to talk to them. Did they have a boy or a girl, by the way? You learn a lot about the culture of their countries when you engage them in conversation - information that you won't find in books.

Follow Everson Bevelle and Matt Mitchum on Facebook, but met a young lady in the Cherry on Top store on the Carnival Glory last year. She took my order for my wife's birthday cake and the decorator spelled the name wrong. Maja was nice enough to offer my money back but I said we ate the cake, it's ok. We talked for an hour since they were so slow. We kept in touch through FB and messaging. Three days before my birthday cruise this year, she announced she would be on the Legend. So were we. Excited got to see her and catch up. She just posted she's going to the Breeze this month. We have a cruise booked on it next month. If you are on and see the retail manager Maja, she is very friendly and a great person.

This is so nice to read. The crew really do enjoy interacting with us as evidenced by your experience. They miss their own families while they are working on the cruise ships for long stretches of time.

I had a personal trainer for one cruise and kept in touch with him to find out if his wife had a boy or girl. Our's was his last voyage before going home. Understandably, he was very anxious to get home and his excitement was infectious so I just had to know.

I am on Facebook with the piano player/singer from my Grand Voyage last year. Kept in touch with our server by email on a previous HAL cruise. Also hear from time to time from a comedian on Carnival.

We have. Our steward from our Panama cruise sends us pictures of the kids, and our Bartender from our 2009 cruise has kept in touch. Those folks along with other friends we have met have become part of our circle of family.
