Impressed with security

Lots of complaints of scooters, kids, etc.. Just got off Breeze and I had made friends with a security person. He told and showed me many things. For instance on the ship I was on, Breeze, they enforce the scooter policy. no scooters in hallway, if they have a big scooter you cannot get it on, you have to rent a small one that fits in cabin. Some people are so huge, I dont see how the scooter moves, they look like wheels coming out of their tail.(oooooooo, I am not a sensative person). At night they have a drug sniffing dog going down each deck.(I stay up late, so I walked with the dog and handler, got permission as my friend is head of security) They had one cabin and persons were on lockdown, in it, with a security person standing guard, Cozumel off they go. The teens, security is on serenity and hot tubs. Curfew time they got to go in cabins. of course there are some teens hard headed, so security is escorting them somewhere. He did not tell me about the happenings of that. They have a security person monitoring the late night pizza line, couple of fights broke out of line cutters, so security is there. Of course ice cream is still shut down at midnight, so no teen ice cream fights. This trip I was really impressed with security. If all ships has this in place it will be great.

Nothing about my existence is slow, easy, or family rated! Big Smile

Sadly, we didn’t even make it to midnight. This was the first getaway for my DH after his triple bypass surgery the first part of November. We took it slow and easy. Very family rated!

Since this is a 'G' rated forum, I will not even think about where you were heading with this post -- "New Years Eve" and "fun ship" and "no rules". That combination, and if you are still trying to remove some of the festive confetti - What happens on the ship - STAYS on the ship. I get it Wink

Ive notice an extraordinary increase in security since the Return to Sailing. I am always acutely aware of all things safety and security. My wife says its paranoid. I call it situational awareness.

There are plaincloths folks, ontop of the uniformed. most of them are decent at blending in too.

Appreciate your informative. Hopefully, these enforcements will be fleet wide. We noticed a much bigger security presence on our NYE cruise. You can still be the “fun ship” without being a “no rules” ship. Glad to hear they are doing this!

You got that right! How refreshing....reminds me of a conversation I had with a bartender couple trips back...off all things he was acrually criticizal about CCL...usually they don't say squat about that subject...he said they went out of their way to present some kind oif party hearty image, and it bit them in the behind...now they're trying to change it...one way is make it increasingly expensive..the other is to actually enforce the rules..and make them stricter. And make it obvious.
